Rika welcomes you to the rural village of Hinamizawa. Her mouth forms a joyous smile and her cute greeting of “Nipa~!” somehow puts you at ease.
Rika gazes at the village late at night. From this distance, you can’t tell whether she is talking to herself or to a companion hidden in the shadows, and you can’t identify what exactly the red liquid that she occasionally sips from her glass is. But, amidst the sorrowful chirping of cicadas, you hear her silent plea of “No more, no more, no more…”
This is Furude Rika – the Miko of the Furude Shrine in Hinamizawa and the sole remaining member of the Furude clan, one of the 3 Great Families that governed the isolated village. A good luck charm to most villagers and an irreplaceable companion to her friends.
Rika lives together with fellow orphan Satoko in a house of their own, receiving much kindness from the townspeople thanks to her status. Normally light-hearted, she is known to her classmates as rather cunning and hard to startle. The ruling Elders consider her to have prophetic powers and treat her words as wise. Some people even claim to have witnessed her suddenly switching demeanor to a darker personality with a deep voice devoid of childhood innocence.
Rika is a cute and charming young lady. But just how many of the countless secrets of Hinamizawa does her tiny body hide?
