An outstanding mahjong player, Fukuji Mihoko gained the absolute loyalty of her teammates not through iron-fisted discipline, but through understanding and affection. For her, every wound her protégés suffer is her own. Every mistake made is her shortcoming as a leader. In the position to order everyone around, Mihoko can think of nothing but their well-being.

Her hospitality extends even to people completely unrelated to her. She has no hesitation in sharing her boxed lunch with an opponent she first met barely minutes before. However, her gentle heart is also open to attacks from the cruel reality surrounding her. It’s not rare for her to shed tears when faced with the limits of her ability to help others. On the other hand, her cheeks redden delightfully with every compliment she receives.

But no amount of kindness or numbers of mahjong practice sacrificed performing menial tasks for the sake of her team could lessen her ability at a mahjong table. With a mellow smile on her face, Mihoko takes control of the game and humiliates her unsuspecting opponents. She sees through their slightest twitch and easily takes advantage of their bad habits. Still, when the match is over she is sure to express her gratitude for a good game.
