The first thing one is bound to notice about Haramura Nodoka is how well-endowed she is. However, her assets are not what she prides herself in.

What this young female craves is victory in an all-out battle. And her weapon of choice is impartial probability; Nodoka never lets herself be swayed by her emotions and doesn't believes in luck or destiny. She merely chooses the best possible option in any given situation with the mathematical precision of a computer. Many opponents have fallen before her on the battlefield that a mahjong table represents.

Nodoka wants to succeed, and her accomplishments are many. However, her ambition can also make her vulnerable. When faced with an enemy who goes beyond the logic she comprehends, Nodoka stubbornly refuses to admit defeat and renews her challenge again and again. Mahjong is a way of life she will protect with all her strength.

All that determination notwithstanding, Haramura Nodoka is also a maturing girl with her own insecurities. For her, it's a time of first, awkward relationships and overcoming her own shyness. With every attempt she makes to open up to other people, a graceful blush spreads across her cheeks. In both love and war, there is a long way ahead of Nodoka.
